Movie Advice Monday: Fight Club

"You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else."

Tyler Durden, Fight Club (1999)

If nothing more, Fight Club always took me down a peg or two when I started to think that I might-be, could-be, or wanted-to-be better than anyone else. Although I never agreed with every philosophical viewpoint that Tyler Durden was trying to make, he went against the grain of the status quo, spoke against the objectivity of materialism and gave a great big defiant middle finger to being a slave of consumerism. For that reason alone it is commendable.
